This festive, creamy green smoothie is packed with wholesome ingredients like banana, spinach, and Greek yogurt, and topped with a swirl of whipped cream for a holiday treat everyone will love. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for Christmas mornings or healthy snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large ripe banana (about 120g), sliced and frozen
  • 1 packed cup (about 1 oz or 30g) fresh baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup (120g) plain Greek yogurt (or coconut yogurt for dairy-free)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk of choice (unsweetened almond, oat, or dairy milk)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) honey or pure maple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • 45 ice cubes (about 1/2 cup, 70g)
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) prepared whipped cream or non-dairy topping
  • Red sprinkles or 1 maraschino cherry (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the banana, then freeze for at least 2 hours (overnight is best). Rinse and pat dry the spinach. Gather all other ingredients.
  2. Add spinach, milk, and yogurt to a high-speed blender. Blend on low, then high, for about 40 seconds until the spinach is fully incorporated and the mixture is bright green.
  3. Add frozen banana, vanilla extract, honey or maple syrup (if using), and ice cubes. Blend on high for 45–60 seconds until ultra-smooth and creamy.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness as desired. Add more honey/maple syrup for sweetness, more milk if too thick, or more ice/frozen banana if too thin.
  5. Pour smoothie into a tall glass. Top with a generous swirl of whipped cream or non-dairy topping.
  6. Garnish with red sprinkles or a maraschino cherry for a festive touch.
  7. Serve immediately with a straw while cold and creamy.

Notes

For extra creaminess, always use frozen banana. Blend spinach and liquids first for a silky texture. Adjust sweetness to taste, and use non-dairy alternatives for vegan. Garnish with whipped cream and red sprinkles for the full Grinch effect. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 24 hours or freeze in ice cube trays for later.
