Instructions

  1. Clear Space & Prep Board (5 minutes): Find a flat spot near your party area. Place your serving board or tray down and cover with parchment paper if needed.
  2. Arrange Bowls for Toppings (5 minutes): Set out small bowls, ramekins, or jars across your board. Group similar toppings together and alternate colors for visual appeal.
  3. Pre-Scoop Ice Cream (10 minutes): About 10 minutes before serving, scoop ice cream into a large bowl or individual cups. For parties, pre-scoop balls and freeze them on a baking sheet for easy serving.
  4. Fill Topping Bowls (5 minutes): Pour sprinkles, marshmallows, nuts, candies, and cookie crumbs into their bowls. Microwave sauces for 10-15 seconds to loosen, then pour into small pitchers or bowls. Stir whipped cream and keep chilled.
  5. Decorate & Add Final Touches (5 minutes): Scatter extra sprinkles and heart candies for fun. Arrange cones and bowls around the edge. Add napkins, tongs, and spoons for each topping.
  6. Keep It Cool: If the room is warm, tuck ice packs under the ice cream or serve in shifts, refilling as needed. Keep extra ice cream in the freezer and swap out as you go.
  7. Let the Fun Begin: Invite guests to build their dream sundaes and enjoy!

Notes

Mix and match toppings based on your guests’ preferences and dietary needs. Pre-scoop ice cream for easy serving. For vegan or gluten-free guests, use dairy-free ice cream, coconut whipped cream, and gluten-free cookies/cones. Only set out half the toppings at a time to keep them fresh. Add edible glitter or flowers for extra flair. Keep plenty of napkins handy for sticky hands.
