A quick and easy frozen strawberry lime margarita with a spicy Tajín rim, perfect for cooling off on hot days. This recipe balances sweet, tart, and spicy flavors for a refreshing cocktail experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries, hulled and frozen
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice (from about 2 limes)
  • 2 ounces tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce triple sec or Cointreau
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup (adjustable to taste)
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Tajín seasoning for rimming the glass
  • Coarse sea salt (optional, mixed with Tajín for the rim)
  • Lime wedges for garnish and rimming

Instructions

  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass to moisten it.
  2. Spread a thin layer of Tajín seasoning mixed with coarse sea salt on a small plate.
  3. Dip the rims into the seasoning, twisting gently to coat evenly. Set aside to dry while you make the drink.
  4. In a high-speed blender, combine frozen strawberries, fresh lime juice, tequila blanco, triple sec, simple syrup, and ice cubes.
  5. Blend on high for about 45 seconds or until smooth and slushy. Add a splash of water or more lime juice if the mixture is too thick.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more simple syrup or lime juice, then blend briefly again.
  7. Pour the frozen margarita into the prepared glasses.
  8. Garnish each with a fresh lime wedge or a strawberry slice on the rim.
  9. Serve immediately while cold and slushy.

Notes

Freeze strawberries ahead of time for best texture. Use fresh lime juice for bright flavor. Rim glasses just before serving to keep Tajín crisp. Blend in short bursts if blender struggles with ice. Adjust sweetness last after tasting.
