Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz wheel Brie or Camembert
  • 6 oz block Sharp White Cheddar
  • 6 oz Smoked Gouda
  • 4 oz Goat Cheese Log
  • 46 slices Prosciutto
  • 810 slices Salami or Genoa Salami
  • 1012 slices Pepperoni (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Black Olives, pitted
  • 1/2 cup Green Olives Stuffed with Pimento
  • 1 cup Black or Red Grapes
  • 1/2 cup Blackberries or Blueberries
  • 1/4 cup Dried Apricots or Dried Mango
  • 1 small bag Candy Eyes
  • 1/2 cup Gummy Worms or Gummy Spiders
  • 1 cup Pretzel Sticks or Pretzel Twists
  • 1/4 cup Roasted and Salted Pumpkin Seeds (Pepitas)
  • 2 cups Assorted Crackers
  • 1 small Baguette, sliced and lightly toasted
  • 46 Breadsticks
  • 1/4 cup Pumpkin Butter or Fig Jam
  • Honey, for drizzling
  • 1/2 cup Beet Hummus or Roasted Red Pepper Dip
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs (optional, for garnish)
  • Flaky sea salt, for finishing

Instructions

  1. Set the Stage (5 minutes): Place your board on a clean, flat surface. Put small bowls or ramekins on the board first. Fill one bowl with the beet hummus or spinach dip, one with the honey or fig jam, and one with the olives. Position them in a triangle or scattered around the board to create natural ‘zones’.
  2. Place the Cheese (3 minutes): Place the brie wheel whole in a prominent spot, slightly off-center. Cut the cheddar into cubes and arrange them in a small pile or line. Fan out the smoked gouda slices next to the cheddar. Place the goat cheese log on the opposite side. If using a cookie cutter, cut a few cheddar slices into bat or pumpkin shapes. Stick a candy eye onto the brie wheel with a tiny dab of honey.
  3. Add the Meats (3 minutes): Fold the prosciutto slices into loose, wavy ribbons and place them near the brie. Fold the salami slices into quarters and arrange them in a line or small pile. Scatter pepperoni around if using.
  4. Scatter the Fruits and Veggies (4 minutes): Place clusters of black grapes in one area and blackberries in another. Tuck dried apricots near the cheddar. Scatter green and black olives around the bowls.
  5. Add the Crunch (3 minutes): Arrange assorted crackers in small groups or lines around the cheese and meats. Place baguette slices in a neat stack or fan. Stand breadsticks upright in a small glass or lay them across the board. Arrange pretzel sticks in a bundle that looks like a pile of bones.
  6. Incorporate the Spooky Details (4 minutes): Press candy eyes onto a few cheese cubes, olives, or crackers. Drape gummy worms over the edge of the brie or let them ‘crawl’ out of the olive bowl. Scatter pumpkin seeds across empty spaces. Break rosemary sprigs into small pieces and stick them into cheese or dip to look like tiny dead trees.
  7. Drizzle and Garnish (2 minutes): Drizzle honey over the brie or goat cheese. Sprinkle flaky sea salt over the entire board. Add fresh herb sprigs like thyme or rosemary for a touch of green. Fill any empty spots with extra crackers, berries, or pretzels.
  8. Final Touch (1 minute): Place cheese knives and spreaders near the appropriate cheeses. Add a small spoon to the honey and jam bowls. Stand back, take a photo, and let guests enjoy.

Notes

Let cheese come to room temperature for best flavor. Prep components up to 24 hours in advance. Keep wet and dry ingredients separate to avoid soggy crackers. Embrace imperfections for a more inviting look.
