This easy, budget-friendly Halloween punch looks just like a giant bowl of candy corn with its bright orange, sunny yellow, and creamy white layers. It’s sweet, citrusy, fizzy, and a total hit with kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (64-ounce) bottle of orange juice, chilled
  • 1 (2-liter) bottle of lemon-lime soda, chilled
  • 1 (2-liter) bottle of ginger ale, chilled
  • 1 (46-ounce) can of pineapple juice, chilled
  • 1 quart of orange sherbet, slightly softened
  • 1 (6-ounce) box of orange gelatin (Jell-O)
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • 1 cup of cold water
  • Ice cubes or a large ice ring
  • Gummy worms or candy corn for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the gelatin (optional, but recommended): In a small bowl, dissolve the orange gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir for about 2 minutes until the powder is completely dissolved. Then, stir in 1 cup of cold water. Set this aside to cool slightly while you prep the other ingredients.
  2. Chill everything: Make sure your orange juice, lemon-lime soda, ginger ale, and pineapple juice are all very cold. I usually put them in the fridge the night before.
  3. Layer the punch bowl: Pour the chilled orange juice into the bottom of your punch bowl. Then, slowly pour the pineapple juice over the back of a spoon to help it layer on top. Next, slowly add the cooled orange gelatin mixture in the same way.
  4. Add the fizz: Gently pour in the lemon-lime soda and the ginger ale. Give it a very gentle stir—just two or three swirls. You don’t want to mix it all together yet; you want to keep those beautiful layers.
  5. The sherbet trick: Take your slightly softened orange sherbet and use a large spoon to scoop out big, fluffy scoops. Gently float them on top of the punch. Don’t stir them in—let them sit on top like little clouds.
  6. Add the ice: If you’re using an ice ring, float it gently in the punch. If you’re using ice cubes, add them around the edges so they don’t disturb the sherbet layer too much.
  7. Garnish and serve: Drop in some gummy worms so they look like they’re swimming. Sprinkle a handful of candy corn on top of the sherbet. Use a ladle to serve the punch into cups, making sure each cup gets a little bit of everything.

Notes

Prep all ingredients the night before. Assemble punch right before serving for best fizz and layers. Use full-sugar soda for best flavor. For a dairy-free version, use vegan orange sorbet instead of sherbet. For a less sweet version, use club soda instead of lemon-lime soda and ginger ale, and add honey or agave to taste.
