These crispy air fryer garlic knots are a quick and easy snack featuring a golden, crunchy exterior and soft, garlicky inside, topped with herb butter and Parmesan cheese. Perfect for snacks, parties, or alongside soups.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450 g) pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
  • 4 tablespoons (60 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 34 cloves garlic, finely minced or pressed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup (25 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • Pinch of salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, a small pinch (optional)
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, dried Italian herbs

Instructions

  1. Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the pizza dough into a roughly 12×12-inch square.
  2. Slice the dough into 12 strips about 1 inch wide using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  3. Tie each strip into a loose knot.
  4. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper if using; stir well.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Arrange the knots in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each; cook in batches if needed.
  7. Air fry the knots for 7-9 minutes or until golden brown and crisp, turning halfway if your air fryer requires it.
  8. Brush the hot knots generously with the garlic herb butter mixture immediately after cooking.
  9. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the knots while still hot.
  10. Let the knots cool for a minute or two and serve warm.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and crispiness. Brush knots with herb butter immediately after air frying to lock in flavor. If knots seem doughy inside, add 1-2 more minutes of cooking. For reheating, use the air fryer at 320°F for 3-4 minutes to maintain crispiness. Fresh garlic is recommended for best flavor.
