  • 1 package of store-bought frozen potstickers (about 20 pieces), or homemade
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for brushing crispiness)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon honey or sugar
  • 1 small garlic clove, finely minced
  • Optional: a pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced (both white and green parts)
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce (to season the scallions)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 370°F and let it warm up for about 3 minutes.
  2. Lightly brush each frozen potsticker with vegetable oil.
  3. Place the potstickers in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t touch. Cook in batches if necessary.
  4. Air fry the potstickers for 8-10 minutes at 370°F, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  5. While potstickers cook, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, honey, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl to make the gyoza sauce.
  6. Toss sliced scallions with toasted sesame seeds and a splash of soy sauce to prepare the sesame scallion topping.
  7. Transfer potstickers to a serving plate, drizzle or serve the gyoza sauce on the side, and sprinkle the sesame scallion topping over the potstickers before serving.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness. Brush potstickers with oil before cooking for golden color. Flip halfway through cooking. Serve sauce on the side to prevent sogginess. For gluten-free, use tamari soy sauce and gluten-free wrappers. Reheat leftovers in air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to maintain crispiness.
