This Easy Candy Corn Popcorn Bark is a quick, no-bake Halloween treat that combines salty popcorn, crunchy pretzels, sweet white coating, and chewy candy corn. It comes together in about 15 minutes and is perfect for parties, classroom celebrations, or a spooky movie night.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups plain popped popcorn (about 1 bag of microwave popcorn, popped and kernels removed, or air-popped)
  • 1 cup mini pretzel twists (or pretzel sticks, broken into pieces)
  • 1 cup candy corn (classic Brach’s brand recommended)
  • 12 ounces white almond bark or white melting wafers (Ghirardelli or Wilton recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, helps thin the coating)
  • 1/2 cup Halloween-themed M&M’s
  • 1/4 cup extra candy corn (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup orange and black sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep your popcorn: Pop popcorn according to package directions. Remove any unpopped kernels. Spread popped popcorn on a large baking sheet in a single layer and let it sit for 10-15 minutes to cool and dry out slightly.
  2. Line your baking sheet: Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Set aside.
  3. Combine the dry ingredients: In a very large mixing bowl, combine the cooled popcorn, mini pretzels, and 1 cup of candy corn. Gently toss with your hands to distribute evenly.
  4. Melt the coating: Place the almond bark or white melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Add the coconut oil or shortening if using. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring well after each interval, until completely smooth and melted (about 1.5 to 2 minutes total).
  5. Pour and fold: Pour the melted coating over the popcorn mixture. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold everything together until every piece is coated, working from the bottom up.
  6. Spread it out: Dump the coated mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread into an even layer about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. Do not press down too hard.
  7. Add the toppings: While the coating is still wet, sprinkle the M&M’s, extra candy corn, and sprinkles over the top. Press them in gently with your fingertips.
  8. Let it set: Let the bark sit at room temperature for 30-45 minutes, or until completely firm. For faster setting, refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Break it up: Once set, use your hands or a sharp knife to break or cut the bark into irregular 2-3 inch pieces.

Notes

For best results, use stale or day-old popcorn to avoid steam making the coating seize. Add half the candy corn after spreading to prevent color bleeding. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Do not refrigerate.
