A quick and easy fall dessert dip made with cream cheese, caramel sauce, and fresh apples. Perfect for parties, tailgates, or cozy nights in, this no-bake recipe comes together in just 15 minutes and is always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce, divided
  • 23 medium apples, sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for apple slices)

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese: Remove from refrigerator at least 30 minutes before starting. If in a hurry, cut into cubes and let sit for 15 minutes. Do not microwave.
  2. Combine cream cheese and brown sugar: Place softened cream cheese and packed brown sugar in a mixing bowl. Beat on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until smooth and fluffy. Scrape down sides of bowl halfway through.
  3. Add vanilla extract: Pour in vanilla extract and beat for another 30 seconds until fully incorporated.
  4. Add half the caramel sauce: Measure out 1/4 cup of caramel sauce and add to cream cheese mixture. Beat on low speed just until combined, about 15 seconds. Do not overmix.
  5. Optional: Add cinnamon and nuts: If using cinnamon, fold it in now with a spatula. Reserve nuts for topping.
  6. Transfer to serving bowl: Use a spatula to scrape mixture into a serving bowl. Spread into an even layer.
  7. Drizzle remaining caramel sauce: Drizzle remaining 1/4 cup caramel sauce over top. Use a toothpick or knife to swirl gently into the mixture, leaving distinct ribbons.
  8. Optional: Top with nuts: Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over top and press in gently.
  9. Chill for at least 30 minutes: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours to firm up and meld flavors.
  10. Prepare the apples: While dip chills, wash and slice apples into 1/4-inch thick wedges. Toss with lemon juice if serving immediately to prevent browning.
  11. Serve and enjoy: Arrange apple slices around dip on a platter. Provide small plates and napkins.

Notes

Full-fat cream cheese is essential for best texture. Chill time is not optional—it allows the dip to firm up and flavors to develop. Can be made up to 24 hours in advance. For dairy-free, use vegan cream cheese and coconut cream. For lower sugar, use sugar substitute and sugar-free caramel sauce. Granny Smith apples are recommended for their tartness that balances the sweet dip.
