These mummy wrapped hot dogs are a fun, festive, and incredibly easy Halloween appetizer. Buttery, flaky crescent dough wraps juicy hot dogs, with tiny mustard eyes for a spooky, crowd-pleasing treat that comes together in under 25 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • Optional: sesame seeds, everything bagel seasoning, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean cutting board. If using perforated triangles, press seams together to create a solid sheet. Cut the dough into thin strips, about 1/2 inch wide (8-10 strips per can).
  3. Wrap each hot dog with a dough strip, starting at one end and working to the other, leaving small gaps so the hot dog peeks through. Press ends to seal.
  4. Place wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Use toothpicks to secure any unraveling strips.
  5. Brush each wrapped hot dog with melted butter.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes. Use a toothpick to add two small dots of mustard for eyes.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, keep the dough cold. Do not overwrap the hot dogs; leave gaps for a mummy look. Use toothpicks to prevent unraveling. Watch baking time closely to avoid over-browning. For air fryer: cook at 375°F for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway.
