A quick and easy sheet pan dinner featuring honey mustard glazed salmon and roasted asparagus, perfect for busy weeknights and healthy meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 skin-on salmon fillets (6 ounces / 170 grams each)
  • 1 bunch asparagus (about 1 pound / 450 grams), trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon whole grain mustard
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, fresh parsley or dill for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Position the oven rack in the center to avoid burning the glaze on the salmon.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, whole grain mustard, olive oil, minced garlic, and fresh lemon juice until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Snap off the tough ends of the asparagus by gently bending the stalks until they naturally break. Arrange the asparagus on one side of your baking sheet in a single layer.
  4. Drizzle asparagus with a teaspoon of olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and toss gently to coat evenly.
  5. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them skin-side down on the empty side of the baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
  6. Brush the honey mustard glaze generously over the salmon fillets, covering tops and sides but avoiding the skin directly.
  7. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of red pepper flakes on the salmon for a subtle kick.
  8. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 12-15 minutes. Check the salmon at 12 minutes; it should flake easily with a fork but remain moist inside. The asparagus should be tender but still have a slight snap.
  9. For crispier asparagus, remove the salmon after 12 minutes and broil the asparagus for an additional 2 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  10. Remove from oven and let rest for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle flaky sea salt and freshly chopped herbs like parsley or dill over the salmon and asparagus.
  11. Serve immediately, optionally squeezing a little extra lemon juice over the top.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before glazing to help the glaze caramelize properly. Use skin-on fillets for moisture and crisp texture. Avoid overcrowding the pan to prevent steaming the asparagus. Position oven rack in the center to avoid burning the glaze. Check salmon at 12 minutes to avoid overcooking. Let salmon rest a few minutes after roasting to redistribute juices.
