Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 slider rolls (soft, pull-apart Hawaiian rolls or King’s Hawaiian rolls)
  • 1 ½ cups cooked turkey, shredded or thinly sliced
  • ¾ cup cranberry sauce (whole berry or jellied)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (sharp cheddar and provolone blend, or Swiss, mozzarella)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (or ½ teaspoon garlic powder)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional, for topping)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Make the garlic butter: In a small saucepan over low heat or in a microwave-safe bowl, melt the 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and let it simmer for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown. If using garlic powder, whisk it into the melted butter. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the rolls: Without separating the individual rolls, slice the entire block of slider rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half of the rolls on your baking sheet or in your dish.
  4. Assemble the sliders: Spread the shredded turkey evenly over the bottom half of the rolls. Spoon the cranberry sauce over the turkey and spread it gently. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the cranberry sauce. Season with a pinch of salt and a few cracks of black pepper. If using Dijon mustard, spread a thin layer on the inside of the top half of the rolls before placing them on.
  5. Top the sliders: Place the top half of the rolls over the filling. Brush the entire top of the rolls generously with the garlic butter. If using poppy seeds, sprinkle them over the top now.
  6. Bake: Cover the baking sheet loosely with aluminum foil. Bake for 10 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tops of the rolls are golden brown.
  7. Serve immediately: Let the sliders rest for 2-3 minutes before cutting them apart. Use a sharp knife to cut between the rolls. Serve warm.

Notes

For extra crispy tops, switch your oven to broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning. Do not over-saturate the rolls with butter to avoid sogginess. Use room temperature ingredients for even heating. Let sliders rest after baking to help them hold their shape. Can be assembled up to 8 hours in advance and refrigerated; add 5 minutes to covered baking time.
