Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 4–5 sprigs fresh rosemary (plus extra for garnish)
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 4–5 limes)
  • 1/4 cup rosemary simple syrup
  • 2 cups vodka (recommended: Tito’s or Absolut)
  • 4 cups ginger beer (recommended: Fever-Tree or Q Mixers)
  • 2 cups ice cubes (plus more for serving glasses)
  • Fresh cranberries and rosemary sprigs for garnish
  • Lime wheels for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the rosemary simple syrup: Combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves completely. Add 4-5 sprigs of fresh rosemary, reduce heat to low, and let steep for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Strain out the rosemary sprigs using a fine-mesh strainer. Discard the rosemary. Let the syrup cool completely before using.
  2. Prep the cranberry base: While the syrup steeps, measure out 2 cups of cranberries. If using frozen, no need to thaw. Juice 4-5 limes until you have 1/2 cup of fresh lime juice. Set aside.
  3. Muddle the cranberries: In the bottom of your pitcher, add 1 cup of the cranberries (reserve the rest for garnish). Pour in the 1/2 cup lime juice and 1/4 cup of your cooled rosemary simple syrup. Using a wooden spoon or muddler, gently press the cranberries until they burst.
  4. Add the vodka: Pour in 2 cups of vodka. Stir gently to combine with the cranberry mixture. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness if needed.
  5. Add ice and ginger beer: Add 2 cups of ice cubes to the pitcher. Slowly pour in 4 cups of ginger beer. Stir gently to combine without losing carbonation.
  6. Garnish and serve: Fill copper mugs or glasses with fresh ice. Pour the pitcher mixture over the ice. Garnish each glass with a fresh rosemary sprig, a few whole cranberries, and a lime wheel.

Notes

Don’t boil the rosemary syrup—gentle simmering extracts flavor without bitterness. Add ginger beer last to preserve carbonation. For a non-alcoholic version, skip the vodka and add extra ginger beer or sparkling water. The cranberry base can be made up to 24 hours in advance.
