Ingredients

Scale
  • Red Layer: 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) strawberry or cherry flavored Jello
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka or cold water for non-alcoholic option
  • White Layer: 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water
  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened (Philadelphia brand works well)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water
  • Blue Layer: 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) blue raspberry flavored Jello
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka or cold water for non-alcoholic option

Instructions

  1. Prepare the red layer: In a heatproof bowl, dissolve the strawberry or cherry Jello powder in 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved, about 2 minutes. Add 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka or cold water and mix well. Pour into your shot glasses or silicone molds, filling each about one-third full. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes until firm but not fully set.
  2. Make the white layer: Sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water in a small bowl; let it bloom for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, beat the softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl until smooth. Gently heat the bloomed gelatin in the microwave for 15-20 seconds until melted, then whisk into the cream cheese. Add sweetened condensed milk and 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water; whisk until smooth and creamy. Carefully spoon or pipe the white layer over the chilled red layer—about one-third of the s…
  3. Prepare the blue layer: Dissolve blue raspberry Jello powder in 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved. Add 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka or cold water, mixing thoroughly. Once the white layer is firm, pour the blue mixture on top, filling the remaining space. Chill for at least 2 hours or overnight to ensure all layers are firm and well-set.
  4. Serve: Before serving, let the jello shots sit at room temperature for 5 minutes to loosen slightly, making them easier to eat. Optional: garnish with fresh blueberries or a small dollop of whipped cream for extra flair.

Notes

Pour layers slowly over the back of a spoon to avoid mixing colors. Chill each layer until just firm but still slightly tacky before adding the next. Softened cream cheese at room temperature helps achieve a smooth, velvety white layer. For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut cream or full-fat coconut milk for cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk. Shots can be made alcohol-free by replacing vodka with cold water or lemon-lime soda. Prepare layers up to 2 days in advance and keep covered in the fridge. Avoid freezing to maintain texture.
