A romantic, indulgent charcuterie board for two featuring fig jam as the star. Perfect for date night or a cozy night in, this board is all about connection and delicious, simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup fig jam
  • 4 oz (115g) brie cheese
  • 3 oz (85g) aged gouda
  • 4 oz (115g) prosciutto (about 6–8 slices)
  • 3 oz (85g) salami (about 12–15 slices)
  • 1 cup (150g) fresh grapes
  • 4–6 dried figs
  • 20–24 crackers
  • ¼ cup (30g) walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep the Cheese (5 minutes): Take the brie and gouda out of the fridge 30 minutes before serving. Slice the brie into wedges or leave it whole with a knife for cutting. Slice the gouda into thin triangles. Arrange them on opposite sides of the board—brie on the left, gouda on the right.
  2. Place the Fig Jam (2 minutes): Spoon the fig jam into a small bowl or ramekin. Place it in the center of the board, slightly off to one side. If the jam is thick, stir it gently to loosen it up.
  3. Add the Meats (3 minutes): Fold the prosciutto slices into loose ribbons or rosettes. Place them near the brie. Arrange the salami slices in a small pile or fan them out near the gouda.
  4. Add the Fruit (3 minutes): Scatter the grapes in small clusters around the board. Tuck the dried figs near the fig jam.
  5. Add the Crackers (2 minutes): Arrange the crackers in small stacks or fans around the edges of the board. Keep them separate from the cheese to prevent sogginess.
  6. Add the Walnuts and Honey (2 minutes): Sprinkle the toasted walnuts in the gaps between ingredients. Drizzle the honey over the brie and gouda in a thin, steady stream.
  7. Garnish and Adjust (2 minutes): Tuck the fresh thyme or rosemary sprigs around the board for color. Step back and look at it. Fill any empty spots with extra crackers or grapes.
  8. Serve Immediately: Place the board in the center of the table with two small plates, two napkins, and two glasses of wine.

Notes

Let cheese come to room temperature for best flavor. Toast walnuts in a dry pan for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Don’t overcrowd the board; leave space between ingredients. For a vegetarian version, skip the meats and add roasted red peppers or marinated artichoke hearts.
